Although Chumphon is a small province, it has a 222-kilometer-long beach on Thai Gulf. A half of the province belongs to the area of Mu Koh Chumphon National Park.

 

Apart from the beach, Mu Koh Chumphon National Park covers mangrove forest, mountains, islands from Jorakae Island in Patiew District, Ngamyai Island, Ngamnoi Island, Samed Island, Mapraw Island, Matra Island, Tonglang Island, Rangkajiew Island in Tungka Gulf, Mueng District, and Sawee Island, Tungtago District, and Tongkrok Gulf in Langsuan District. Due to the mentioned large area, Chumphon offers several interesting activities for tourists.

 

Tourist Attractions and Activities in Chumphon

Travelling around islands: Forty islands offer you several interesting activities i.e. snorkeling at Ngamyai and Ngamnoi Island, playing clear sea water at Rangkajiew and Tonglang Island, stay at Jorakae Island which offers you the most subtle beach and round rocks.

Walking along from Tourist Information Center which provides you wooden bridge to the natural trek, leading to manglove forest or taking a boat to sight see manglove forest.

Pay respect to Prince of the Third Class Chumphonkate Udomsak Statue at Hadsaireee Beach and visit Chumphon Royal Warship.

Appreciate wonderful scenery at Chao Mueng View Point around Hadsairee Beach. It is the best point to see all islands clearly.

Appreciate beautiful scenery at Matsri View Point, a new view point before Hadsairee Beach. Enjoy 3600 scenery, café and restaurants. Moreover, cars can be driven there.

Appreciate beautiful long beach in Mu Koh Chumphon National Park where is longer than 100 km and covers a half of Chumphon Province e.g. Tungmakhamnai  and  Tungmakhamnok Gulf Beach (its beach is longer than 4 km), Arunothai Beach (its beach is longer than 6 km) in Tungtago District, and etc.

Take natural trekking along one-kilometered Tungka-Sawee Manglove Forest.

Matra Isalnd is an enormous island where tourists love to travel and go diving for fantastic coral reef including fish. Accommodations are available on the mentioned island. Another interesting animal is hairy-legged mountain crabs.

How to get there

By Car

Driving from the center of Chumphon, go along on main road no. 4001: Paknamchumphon. Turn right to Hadsairee Beach and go straight on for 20 minutes. Then turn right to Ro-Po-Cho Road: Banmatsri-Hadsairee about 9 kilometers, you will see the sign of Mu Koh Chumphon National Park. Turn right and drive straight about a kilometer, you will reach Office of Mu Koh Chumphon National Park.
