A visit to Huai Hong Khrai Royal Development Study Centre lets you learn how the denuded forest became a lush, green forest thanks to the initiative of HM King Bhumibol. The centre was initiated in 1982 by HM the King who wish to improve the condition of this former denuded forest. The centre then conducted a number of researches and studies on forestry that later turned this denuded forest into a lush forest by planting three kinds of trees: trees for fruits, trees for firewood and trees with high economic values. The idea has later been implemented at other denuded forests around the region. “Let this Study Centre function as living museum of Mother Nature,” says the king.
